The name BRENDOS is a throwback nickname given to me (Brendan Banks) during my early days in my father’s restaurants, originating from the chefs at TJ Pooles located in Mineola. As a kid who always wanted to be a chef, I sat back, watched, and learned.

The action and excitement of the lunch and dinner rush drew me in, and I was hooked! I started working as a weekend dishwasher and inventory stock boy at age 11. Shortly after, I finally became a cook. Throughout my teenage years, I worked in restaurants, and I needed a change after high school, so I joined the US Army. I served four tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and at age 26, I was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.

Back to the restaurant life, I went. I worked in Ll and NYC, learning new cuisines. Then I became a chef and part-owner of successful burger-themed restaurants on Long Island. But my true love is sandwiches, specifically heroes. My goal is to bring you food with attitude. Everything is fresh, top quality, and exciting. Enjoy the menu, and if you want something simple or specific, request it, and I’ll make it if I have it. Specials and creativity are always in the works. Stay tuned for more food to come. BRENDO
